Our doctrine is the belief that each person has been created in the image of God and, as a result, has the ability to think, feel, and act.
God is just, therefore, grace is offered freely to everyone.
Thus, predestination and election are not about me, but about Jesus. In other words, before time began, God predetermined that everyone who places his or her faith in Jesus will be saved.
God elected that salvation would be through grace alone, by faith alone, in Christ alone —free will, free grace, free salvation.
Free Will Baptist doctrine is defined by three ideas:
free will…means everyone has the ability to reject or accept Christ (Matt. 3:2, 4:17, John 1: 12-13, Acts 3:19)
free grace…means salvation is totally dependent on the grace of God through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Eph. 2:8-9)
free salvation…everyone is a candidate for salvation (1 Tim. 2:4, 2 Peter 3:9, Titus 2:11)
Free Will Baptist theology avoids extremes where extremes are not needed. For example: We reject the extreme doctrine that once a person is saved, he or she is always saved regardless of how he lives his life; but we also reject the extreme doctrine that a person can be saved today, lost tomorrow, saved again the next day, and lost again the next. We believe strongly in eternal security; we simply believe it is conditional on faith in Jesus Christ. We believe in the possibility of apostasy, a willful, knowing rejection of Jesus, not the result of a one-time moment of weakness.

Built in the early 1900's, as Union Chapel, the small congregation was faithful in loving the community where it was planted. Around 1983 a group came together and chose to change the name to Harmony Star FreeWill Baptist Church to better reflect their biblical views.
In May 2024 a devastating tornado swept through Rogers County and destroyed the beloved little church building. The congregation chose to meet at a fellow member's home while preparing to rebuild. Finally in August 2025, after a little over a year of construction, the church doors reopened and began serving the small community of Harmony Star once again.
Harmony Star Baptist Church of today consists of a variety of members who love the Lord and want to honor and serve Him by serving the community. Come join us weekly for one of our Sunday Services of fellowship and worship.
